Gujarat state has many lesser known places and Kadia dungar caves are
one of them. Located near Zazpor village of Jhagadia taluka, can be
easily reached from the Bharuch/Zankhvav/Mandavi city of Gujarat. These seven rock-cut
caves are believed to be made from the single mountain (dungar). The
best attraction of Kadia dungar caves are their monolithic lion pillars. The seven rock-cut caves at Kadia Dungar are assumed to be built around
1st century AD. These were erected during the time when Buddhism
flourished in India. From their shapes, it can be told that they had
been used as viharas during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. GVTC members visited on 26/06/2017.
